What to do in the Rochester area?

When the wedding festivities aren’t happening, it might be tough to figure out how to pass the time. Here are some of our recommendations to do around the Rochester area in your free time!

Walk through the town of Pittsford

Located just 10 minutes away from Woodcliff via I-490 North, walking through the town of Pittsford is definitely a must when visiting the Rochester Area. The Erie Canal runs right through the heart of town which is always a great sight to look at. You could also grab lunch at one of our favorite restaurants, The Pittsford Pub, or grab some ice cream at the infamous Pittsford Dairy. Pittsford is also home of Marisa’s alma matter, Nazareth University as well as St. John Fisher University

Shop at Eastview Mall in Victor

Spilled food on your wedding shirt during the rehearsal dinner? Eastview Mall in Victor has you covered. Located 5 minutes down the road from Woodcliff, Eastview Mall has plenty of outlets to take care of last minute wardrobe malfunctions. The Mall contains stores such as JCPenney, Macy’s, Von Maur, and Dick’s House of Sports

Genesee Brew House

Home of Genesee beer, the Genesee Brew House is another Rochester staple, and a must for all tourists. Before you eat and drink, and enjoy the breathtaking views of downtown Rochester’s High Falls, go on a tour of the brewhouse and learn about the history of Genesee beer and how the beer is made.

Park Ave

Want to take a walk in downtown Rochester that is safe to walk down? Look no further than Park Ave. This street contains a bunch of nice coffee shops, bakery’s, a Pittsford Dairy location, bars, and more. Go have lunch at Magnolia’s deli where former President of the United States Barack Obama had lunch once! Park Ave is approximately 15 minutes from Woodcliff.

Lake Ontario

Are you in Rochester the day before the rehearsal dinner and it is blistering hot out? Go check out one of the few beaches on Lake Ontario. Pictured is our personal favorite spot at Durand Eastman State Park in Irondequoit, located approximately 25 minutes from Woodcliff.

Canandaigua

Town that is located along Canandaigua Lake, the Town of Canandaigua is approximately 25 minutes from Woodcliff. Main Street in the town is filled with local shops, coffee shops, and restaurants and is a favorite of Jack and Marisa’s to walk through. Not only that, but a less than 5-minute drive down the street is Canandaigua Lake where you can sit down and stare out into the lake, or walk around the lake to a few of the nice restaurants on the lake.
